Walking in Complete Victory
In this message, I walk you through what it truly means to walk in complete victory as a believer, not just knowing the truth, but letting it transform you from the inside out. This is the final message in our "Delivered from Evil" series, and it's one you don't want to miss.

Based on the Teaching by Pastor Chris Hufton
1. SERMON RECAP
Pastor Chris Hufton closed out the "Delivered from Evil" series by calling the church to walk in the complete victory that God has already made available to every believer. He emphasized that it is not merely the existence of truth, but the truth that is genuinely known, understood, and held in the heart that sets a person free. Drawing from Ephesians 6 and the example of Jesus healing the bent-over woman in Luke 13, Pastor Chris challenged the congregation to stop making excuses, put on the full armor of God, and take personal responsibility for feeding their faith through consistent time in the Word of God.
2. KEY SCRIPTURE
John 8:31-32
"If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
3. ICE BREAKER
Think of something you had to study or practice repeatedly before it finally clicked for you. What was it, and what did it feel like when it finally made sense?
4. DISCUSSION QUESTIONS
1. Pastor Chris pointed out that it is not the existence of truth that sets a person free, but the truth that is genuinely known and understood. What is the difference between knowing a fact about the Bible and actually having that truth take root in your heart? Can your group think of an example from personal experience?
2. In Luke 13, Jesus did not cast out a demon to free the bent-over woman. He simply spoke the Word over her and she was made straight after 18 years of bondage. What does that tell your group about the raw power of God's Word? How does that challenge the way we typically approach struggle or spiritual attack in our own lives?
3. Pastor Chris presented a straightforward equation: Me plus Jesus equals Power. He then asked honestly why so many believers fail to experience that power, and he pointed the finger not at God but at the individual. How does the group respond to that kind of direct challenge? Is it uncomfortable, convicting, or freeing, and why?
4. The armor of God in Ephesians 6 only works if it is actually put on. Pastor Chris noted that the belt of truth, which holds the sword and the shield in place, is rooted in the written Word of God. If a believer is not regularly in the Word, how does that practically affect their ability to stand in faith and speak the Word into their circumstances?
5. Pastor Chris described the mind as the most important battlefield, and he connected the helmet of salvation to the need to actively renew the mind. What are some of the most common lies or fearful thoughts that people in your group recognize the enemy using to gain ground in their thinking? How has Scripture specifically pushed back against those lies?
6. Near the close of the message, Pastor Chris called the church to function as a family where older believers disciple younger ones and where everyone is growing and stretching together. What would it look like practically for your small group to operate more like that kind of family? What is one thing your group could do differently to make that a reality?
5. APPLICATION CHALLENGE
This week, each group member should identify one area of their life where they have been experiencing fear, worry, oppression, or recurring defeat. They should then find two or three specific Bible verses that speak directly to that area, write them down by hand, and speak them out loud over themselves every morning before leaving the house. This is not a passive reading exercise. It is an intentional, daily act of picking up the sword of the Spirit and using it. At the next meeting, group members should be prepared to share which verses they chose and what they noticed over the course of the week.
6. PRAYER POINTS
-
Pray that every person in the group would develop a genuine hunger for the Word of God and a consistent daily habit of reading and meditating on Scripture, so that the truth they encounter would move from their head into their heart and produce real freedom.
-
Pray for any group members who are currently under spiritual attack, experiencing fear, anxiety, depression, or feelings of rejection, that they would receive a fresh revelation of the authority and power that is already at work inside them through the Holy Spirit.
-
Pray for the church as a whole to grow into a community where disciples are being made, where the older are pouring into the younger, and where the full armor of God is being worn and used by every believer, not just on Sunday mornings but throughout every day of the week.
7. MEMORY VERSE
Ephesians 6:10
"Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might."

The Truth That Actually Sets You Free
John 8:31-32 — "If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
On Sunday I opened with this verse because I want you to understand something that a friend of mine says often — the fact that truth exists does not set you free. It is the truth you know, really know, that sets you free. Think about calculus. If you read the lesson once and walk straight into the test, you are going to fail. But if you study it, meditate on it, and practice it, something clicks. The Word of God works exactly the same way. You can sit in church your whole life and still be in chains because you never let the Word move from your head into your heart. Abiding means staying. It means returning to it daily until it becomes part of how you think, breathe, and respond. That is where freedom lives — not in knowing about the Word, but in knowing it deeply.
Father, forgive me for the times I have treated Your Word like a chore rather than a lifeline. Help me to abide in it today, not just read it, but let it sink into the places that need changing. Thank You that freedom is already waiting for me in Your Word. Amen.
He Sent His Word and It Was Enough
Psalm 107:20 — "He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions."
On Sunday I talked about the woman in Luke 13 who had been bent over for eighteen years, bound by a spirit of infirmity. Jesus did not perform an elaborate ceremony. He simply spoke a word over her and she was made straight. Eighteen years of bondage broken by the spoken Word of God. I want you to sit with that for a moment. God's Word carries an anointing that breaks chains without fanfare, without a formula, without a special moment. It just works. Sometimes we are waiting for a dramatic experience when God has already sent the word that can set us free. Maybe it is in the passage you have been skipping over. Maybe it is in the scripture someone shared with you last week that you dismissed. Do not underestimate what God's Word can do when it lands in a heart that is willing to receive it. He sent His Word. That is enough.
Lord, I believe You have sent Your Word to heal me and deliver me. Help me to receive it today with an open heart and not overlook what You are already saying to me. I trust that Your Word is enough. Amen.
You Have Been Infused With Power
Ephesians 6:10 — "Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might."
I love that Paul says "finally" here. He has spent the entire letter to the Ephesians talking about redemption, grace, renewing your mind, being filled with the Spirit — and then he lands on this. Finally, be strong. Not kind of strong. Not strong when you feel like it. Strong. The Greek word used here describes a power whose very purpose is to infuse the believer with strength. That means the strength is already in you if you belong to Jesus. The same power that raised Christ from the dead is on the inside of you. So when I hear people say they feel powerless, defeated, or afraid, I have to ask the honest question — are you drawing on what has already been given to you? You are not fighting for victory. You are fighting from victory. God has already put the strength inside you. Stand up and use it.
God, thank You that I do not have to manufacture strength on my own. You have already placed Your power inside me. Help me today to walk like someone who actually believes that. Amen.
Put On the Armor Before You Walk Out the Door
Ephesians 6:11 — "Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil."
On Sunday I made what I think is a pretty obvious point that somehow we keep missing. You would not walk onto a battlefield without your armor. A soldier would not leave the belt, forget the shield, and decide today is a barefoot kind of day. And yet that is exactly what many of us do spiritually every single morning. We walk straight into a day full of spiritual opposition without once praying, without picking up the Word, without declaring our faith out loud. Then when things go sideways we wonder where God is. The armor is there. God has provided everything you need. The belt of truth, the shield of faith, the sword of the Spirit — these are not decorations. They are functioning, daily tools. But they only work when you actually put them on. The enemy has strategies. He is not lazy. You cannot afford to be either. Suit up every single day.
Father, help me to take putting on Your armor seriously every morning. I do not want to face this day unprepared. Remind me that the battle is real and that You have already given me everything I need to stand. Amen.
Stop Letting the Enemy Push You Around
Matthew 8:16 — "When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick."
I want to close this week by reminding you of something I said on Sunday. You are absolutely, positively the victor in every situation. Not sometimes. Not when things are going well. Every situation. You have the armor of God, the name of Jesus, the Holy Spirit living inside you, and every promise of God that says yes and amen. The enemy uses mind games. He used them on the armies of Israel when Goliath spoke lies over them until they were paralyzed with fear. He will do the same to you if you let him. But you are not without a voice. Jesus cast out spirits with a word. You have that same authority because the same Spirit lives in you. Stop agreeing with what the enemy says about you. Stop living beneath what God has already declared over you. Speak back. Stand firm. You have already won.
Lord, I refuse to let the enemy have the last word in my life today. I stand on what You say about me — that I am more than a conqueror through You. Help me to live like I actually believe that. Amen.
