Keys for Supernatural Increase
A Small Group Discussion Guide based on the sermon by Pastor Mirek Hufton
1. SERMON RECAP
Pastor Mirek Hufton opened this first sermon of the year by declaring 2026 a year of supernatural increase, grounding that declaration in Psalm 115:14. He unpacked two foundational keys for experiencing God's supernatural increase: loving God with wholehearted devotion and obeying His Word as an expression of that love. He challenged the congregation to extend their time with God through prayer and Scripture, to sow seeds of faith, and to live holy lives that position them to receive everything heaven has prepared for them.
2. KEY SCRIPTURE
Psalm 115:14 "May the Lord give you increase more and more, you and your children."
3. ICE BREAKER
What is one habit or routine in your life that took real discipline to build, and what motivated you to stick with it?
4. DISCUSSION QUESTIONS
1. Loving God First Pastor Mirek emphasized that the greatest goal in life is not a career, a family, or financial security, but God Himself. He pointed to Mark 12:30, which calls us to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. In practical terms, what does it look like in daily life when God genuinely comes first, and what are the most common things that quietly push Him out of that position?
2. Stirring Yourself Up Pastor Mirek described how spiritual passion can settle to the bottom of our lives, much like the contents of a drink that has not been stirred. He urged the congregation to deliberately stir themselves up rather than waiting for motivation to arrive on its own. What are some honest, practical ways your group has found to reignite spiritual hunger when it has grown cold or routine?
3. Obedience as an Expression of Love Drawing from John 14:21 and 23, Pastor Mirek connected obedience directly to love, arguing that if we truly love God we will keep His Word, not out of duty but out of genuine affection. Where does your group find the line between obeying God out of love and obeying out of obligation or fear, and why does that distinction matter for how we grow?
4. Holiness and the Blessing Connection Pastor Mirek was direct in stating that a life of unrepented sin creates barriers to the supernatural blessing God intends for us. He was equally clear that repentance is always available and that there is always a path of recovery. How does your group think about the relationship between holy living and God's blessing, without sliding into either legalism on one side or casualness about sin on the other?
5. Seed, Faith, and Point of Contact Pastor Mirek taught that supernatural increase does not happen automatically, that there is always a seed to be sown and a step of faith to be taken as a point of contact. He pointed to Abraham, the widow of Zarephath, and his own experience of planting this church as examples. Can your group identify a time when a deliberate, costly act of obedience or giving became a turning point in your walk with God, and what did that teach you about how increase actually works?
6. The Rhema Word Pastor Mirek stressed that supernatural increase hinges on hearing a specific, personal word from God, what he called a rhema word, and then acting on it. He described spending extended time alone with God in prayer as the environment in which that kind of hearing happens. What conditions or practices, honestly speaking, tend to make your group most open to hearing God speak, and what tends to crowd that out?
5. APPLICATION CHALLENGE
This week, each group member should identify one specific area of life where they have been waiting passively for God to move, and take one deliberate, concrete step of faith in that area before the group meets again. That step could be an act of giving, an extended time of prayer beyond their normal routine, a conversation they have been avoiding, or a decision they have been postponing. Members should write down what they are trusting God for, and be ready to share briefly with the group next week what they did and what they noticed.
6. PRAYER POINTS
-
Pray that each group member would develop a deep, genuine love for God that naturally produces obedience, hunger for His Word, and sensitivity to the Holy Spirit throughout this new year.
-
Pray for breakthrough in any area where a group member is struggling or wondering why they have not seen the hand of God move, asking God to bring clarity, repentance where needed, and a fresh rhema word to guide their next step.
-
Pray for the supernatural increase Pastor Mirek declared over the congregation and their families, believing together that God will open doors, bring healing, restore relationships, and advance each person in the purpose He has placed on their life in 2026.
7. MEMORY VERSE
Psalm 27:4 "One thing I have desired of the Lord, that will I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in His temple."

Daily Devotional
The God Who Gives More and More
Psalm 115:14 — "May the Lord give you increase more and more, you and your children."
I want you to sit with that verse for a moment. May the Lord give you increase more and more. This is not a wishful thought — this is a covenant declaration. God is the God of increase. He always has been. From the very beginning, when He spoke to Abraham, His intention was blessing, expansion, and multiplication. I believe with everything in me that 2026 is a year where God wants to pour increase into your life — not just financially, but in your faith, your relationships, your health, and your purpose. But here is what I need you to understand: increase is not accidental. It flows from a life that is intentionally connected to God. You have to position yourself to receive what He is already eager to give. He is not withholding from you. He is waiting for you to move closer.
Lord, I receive Your promise of increase today. I ask You to open my eyes to every area of my life where You want to multiply Your blessing. Help me to position myself to receive all You have for me this year.
Love God First and Everything Follows
Mark 12:30 — "And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength."
I want to be honest with you about something. The greatest goal in your life is not a retirement account, a successful career, or even a beautiful family. Your greatest goal is God Himself. I know that sounds simple, but most of us live as though everything else comes first and God gets what is left over. When I met my wife, I was running up phone bills that made my eyes water and driving hundreds of miles just to be near her. That is what love does — it finds a way. I want to ask you today, does your love for God look anything like that? When you truly love God, He becomes the first thought of your morning and the last prayer of your night. Everything else in your life — your family, your finances, your health — begins to align when God is genuinely first.
Father, forgive me for the times I have allowed the noise of daily life to crowd You out. I want to love You with everything I have, not just in words but in how I spend my time and attention. Draw me closer today.
Stir Yourself Up
Jeremiah 29:13 — "And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart."
Let me tell you something about prayer that took me years to fully understand. Prayer is not just a conversation where you bring God your shopping list. Prayer does something in you and to you. I have heard it described as a cleansing agent, and that is exactly right. When I was in one of the biggest transitions of my life, leaving corporate America to follow God's call, I did not find clarity in the clatter of daily routine. I found it when I stole extra hours, when I pitched a tent in the woods and spent nearly a week alone with God. I heard Him clearly because I cleared everything else away. The Bible says we have to stir ourselves up. Like a drink that settles, your passion for God can sink to the bottom of your busy life. You have to deliberately stir it back up again.
God, I confess that my prayer life has sometimes been more routine than real. I want to search for You with my whole heart today. Stir something fresh in me and help me to carve out real time in Your presence.
Obedience Is How Love Speaks
John 14:21 — "He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him."
I want you to hear this gently but clearly. You cannot say you love God and then pick and choose which parts of His Word you will follow. Obedience is not a burden laid on you by a demanding God. Obedience is the language that love speaks. When I tithe, I do not do it out of duty or obligation. I do it because I love Him and I see it in His Word, and that is enough for me. When the Word says to live a holy life, to love others, to forgive, to walk with integrity — these are not suggestions. They are the pathway to everything God has promised you. I have watched people wonder why breakthrough never comes, and so often it is because they are holding on to something God already told them to put down. Obedience clears the runway for God to move.
Lord, show me today if there is any area of my life where I am holding back from full obedience. I do not want pride or comfort to cost me what You have planned for me. I choose to yield to Your Word today.
Sow the Seed and Release Your Faith
Genesis 12:2 — "I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing."
There is no increase without a seed sown. I have lived this. When we planted this church, my wife and I sold our house and gave everything away. That was our seed. When the federal government came against us in a seven-year battle, God spoke to me and said give them the church. That was my Isaac on the altar. Every great move of God in my life has been tied to a specific seed sown in obedience to a word from God. The widow of Zarephath had almost nothing, but she made that one small cake and gave it to Elijah first. That act of faith released the miraculous provision that carried her through the famine. Your seed is your point of contact. It is the physical expression of the faith you are releasing toward God. It might be your time, your money, your service — but when God speaks, sow.
Father, give me the courage to sow generously and in faith wherever You are directing me. I trust that You are faithful to Your Word and that what I sow in obedience will produce a harvest in Your timing. I release my faith to You today.
