You Are Supernaturally Connected
1 Corinthians 2:12 — "Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God."
I want you to understand something this morning that changed everything for me — you are not ordinary. The moment you gave your life to Jesus Christ, God Almighty took up residence inside of you. Think about that. The God who created the stars, the heavens, and everything in between, wanted to live in you. He saw worth in you. He believed in you before you ever believed in yourself. I've been in ministry 55 years, and I still get overwhelmed by that truth. You are supernaturally connected to the Father through Jesus Christ — and that connection gives you access to wisdom, direction, and inspired ideas that the world simply cannot find on its own. You don't have to search through self-help books or expensive seminars. The Spirit of God is already on the inside of you. That's your advantage. That's your edge.
Father, thank You for placing Your Spirit inside of me. Help me to truly understand how connected I am to You today. Let that truth change the way I see myself and the day ahead of me.
Meditate Your Way to Success
Joshua 1:8 — "This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success."
I love this verse because God didn't tell Joshua to figure it out on his own. He gave him a very specific instruction — stay in My Word, meditate on it, speak it, live it. Joshua was stepping into a brand-new leadership role, probably feeling the weight of following Moses. Sound familiar? Maybe you're stepping into something new and you're not sure you're qualified. I've been there. But God's answer is always the same — get in the Word. The Bible is the most supernatural success book ever written. When you meditate on Scripture, something happens on the inside of you. God's Word is alive. It jumps off the page and speaks directly to your spirit, giving you direction, clarity, and confidence you couldn't manufacture on your own. Good success isn't an accident. It's a lifestyle.
Lord, help me to make Your Word the first thing I reach for every single day. Let it shape my thoughts, guide my decisions, and build faith where fear has been living. I want the kind of success that only comes from You.
Decree It and Watch God Move
Job 22:28 — "You will also declare a thing, and it will be established for you; so light will shine on your ways."
I've told my congregation this for years — what comes out of your mouth matters more than you realize. All of heaven and all of hell are listening. When you say "I quit," "I'm broke," "I'm finished," you're giving the enemy exactly what he's looking for. But when you open your mouth and decree what God says about you, things begin to shift. I watched this work in my own son Jonathan's life. I trained him to speak what God said, not what his circumstances said. Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and by what you say, you eat the fruit. Today, I want to challenge you to confuse the devil. Don't give him the satisfaction of hearing you declare defeat. Instead, open your mouth and say what God says — that you are an overcomer, that good things are supposed to happen to you, and that your best days are still ahead.
Father, set a guard over my mouth today. Help me to speak life over my family, my finances, my health, and my future. I decree right now that good things are supposed to happen to me because You said so.
Faith That Gets Back Up
Hebrews 11:1 — "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."
I love what the New Living Translation says here — faith is the confident assurance that something we want is going to happen. It is the certainty that what we hope for is waiting for us, even though we cannot see it yet. That word waiting stopped me cold the first time I really caught it. It's waiting. Your breakthrough, your miracle, your answered prayer — it's already up ahead waiting for you. The only question is, are you going to keep pressing toward it? A righteous man falls down seven times but gets back up again. The devil's strategy is simple — wear you down until you stop getting up. Don't give him that. I've been knocked down more times than I can count, but I made a decision a long time ago that there's no quit in me. When you keep getting up, you frustrate the enemy and you demonstrate real, active, living faith.
Jesus, I thank You that my miracle is already waiting for me up ahead. Give me the strength to get back up one more time today. I refuse to quit, because I know You haven't quit on me.
Excellence Attracts Promotion
Proverbs 22:29 — "Do you see a man who excels in his work? He will stand before kings; he will not stand before unknown men."
I've watched this principle work in my son Jonathan's life, and I've watched it work in my own. Jonathan worked for two years without pay just to learn a skill that God had put in front of him. He didn't complain. He showed up. He gave his best. And at nineteen years old, God promoted him in a way I couldn't have arranged if I tried. That's not a coincidence — that's the supernatural hand of God responding to an excellent spirit. Joseph and Daniel were taken as slaves, and yet they never complained. They just kept doing everything with excellence, and God eventually raised them to rule the very nations that had enslaved them. God doesn't bless laziness, but He absolutely rewards faithfulness and excellence. Whatever you're doing today — whether it feels big or small — do it like God is watching, because He is. And He promotes those who are faithful right where they are.
Father, give me an excellent spirit in everything I put my hands to today. Help me to stop treating ordinary moments as throwaway moments. I want to honor You in the small things so You can trust me with the bigger things.
