1. SERMON RECAP

Pastor Mirek opened 2026 by declaring it the year of supernatural increase, drawing from Psalm 115:9-15 to show that God's heart has always been to bless, multiply, and grow His covenant people. He challenged the congregation that increase doesn't simply fall into our laps — it requires intentional positioning through drawing near to God, standing against the enemy, and living as faithful sowers of seed. He laid out four practical steps: believing God wants to increase you, drawing near to Him through the Word and prayer, resisting the enemy with bold faith, and becoming a lifestyle sower in every area of life.

Think of a time in your life when a small, consistent habit — like showing up early, saving a little money each month, or texting a friend regularly — led to a surprisingly big result over time. What was it, and what did it teach you about the power of small, faithful steps?

4. DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

1. Believing God Wants to Increase You Pastor Mirek pointed to Romans 8:32, reminding us that if God gave us His own Son, how much more will He freely give us everything else we need. Yet many believers quietly struggle to feel worthy of God's blessing.

• What beliefs, past experiences, or voices in your head make it hard to genuinely receive the idea that God wants to increase you specifically? How do you think God responds to those doubts?

2. Drawing Near Through the Word He shared research from the book Move, which found that the single biggest factor in a believer's spiritual growth is reading and reflecting on Scripture daily. He referenced Joshua 1:8, the verse his grandmother wrote in his childhood Bible, as a lifelong anchor.

• Do you have a verse, passage, or Bible memory that has served as a personal anchor for you the way Joshua 1:8 did for Pastor Mirek? What made it stick? If you don't have one yet, what would it mean to find one this year?

3. Getting Close, Not Just Correct Pastor Mirek described how it's easy to become religious — going through the motions without your heart truly being engaged. He said revival is meant to jumpstart a hunger for God's presence, not just God's information.

• What's the difference, in your own experience, between knowing about God and actually sensing His presence? What conditions in your life seem to make you more open to genuine closeness with Him — and what tends to crowd that out?

4. Resisting the Enemy He told the story of his mentor Norval Hayes refusing to accept a heart attack, standing in his doorway and declaring healing over himself until the attack broke. Pastor Mirek challenged the group not to tolerate what the enemy brings — lack, sickness, broken relationships — but to rise up and say, "Not to me you don't."

• How do you personally tend to respond when things go wrong — do you look first at circumstances, other people, or the spiritual battle behind it? What would it look like in your specific situation right now to "put your fighting clothes on" the way David did at Ziklag?

5. Becoming a Sower Pastor Mirek taught that everything is a seed — our time, words, money, gifts, and even our thoughts. He shared the example of Vicki, who drove hours repeatedly to invest in her spiritual growth, and watched her entire family's life shift as a result.

• In what area of your life do you feel you have been reaping a harvest — good or difficult — that you can now trace back to seeds you have sown over time? What does that reveal about the seeds you want to be intentional about planting right now?

6. Putting It All Together Pastor Mirek said he is writing out his major prayers formally, like legal petitions, because he wants to go to another level in 2026 — and he invited the congregation to do the same.

• Of the four steps Pastor Mirek outlined — believing, drawing near, resisting the enemy, and sowing — which one feels most underdeveloped in your life right now? What would it look like to take just one concrete step in that area this week?

5. APPLICATION CHALLENGE

This week, choose one seed to sow deliberately and consistently for seven days. It could be reading one chapter of Scripture every morning before you look at your phone, speaking one specific declaration of faith out loud over your family or finances each day, giving an unexpected act of generosity to someone in your life, or writing out one major prayer as a formal petition to God. Be specific — decide right now what the seed is, when you will sow it each day, and tell one person in this group what you have chosen so they can check in with you by next week.

6. PRAYER POINTS

• For hunger and proximity: Pray that each person in the group develops a genuine, growing hunger for God's Word and presence — not just religious routine — and that they experience a real sense of closeness with Him this week.

• For courage to resist: Pray specifically over any area where someone in the group has been tolerating lack, sickness, fear, or enemy opposition — that they rise up with bold, faith-filled resistance and declare God's covenant promises over that situation.

• For faithful sowing and expectant harvest: Pray that each member becomes increasingly seed-minded in 2026 — aware that their words, time, finances, and actions are seeds — and that they begin to see the early signs of supernatural increase breaking open in their families, workplaces, and finances.

7. MEMORY VERSE

Joshua 1:8 (NKJV) "This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success."
