4. DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

Question 1 Pastor Mirek pointed out that the letter to the Corinthians was written to an entire church, not just to individuals, and that the gifts are meant to operate within the corporate body of believers. What does it look like practically for a church community — rather than just individual members — to hunger for and pursue the gifts of the Spirit together? What might hold a congregation back from doing that?

Question 2 Pastor Mirek shared that wherever he found churches whose pastors consistently taught and preached on the gifts of the Spirit, those were the churches where the gifts actually flowed most freely. What does this say about the connection between what we hear, what we believe, and what we experience in our spiritual lives? How does this principle apply beyond the gifts — to faith, generosity, or prayer?

Question 3 The testimony of Willie being supernaturally transported past a fallen light pole on the highway, and Reinhard Bonnke's story of driving through a truck, illustrate the gift of faith operating as divine protection in crisis moments. Psalm 91 speaks of God's covering and supernatural care. How does a person cultivate the kind of trust in God that means their instinctive response in a moment of crisis is simply "Jesus" rather than fear or panic?

Question 4 Pastor Mirek described the gift of faith as a supernatural impartation that elevates a person beyond their natural level of believing — something that drops into you, lifts you to a place of certainty, and then lifts off once the task is complete. Have you ever experienced something like this, even in a small way? What distinguished that moment from ordinary, everyday faith?

Question 5 He challenged the group to understand that the gifts of healings are plural on purpose — different anointings for different conditions — and that ministers who operate powerfully in healing often have a specific area where God uses them most consistently. He also noted that the gifts can operate outside of a church building, in everyday life and in the marketplace. Where in your regular, daily life do you think God might want to use you to bring His healing or supernatural help to someone?

Question 6 Pastor Mirek was very honest about the cost involved in praying for people — stories of hours on a linoleum floor, of trying and not always seeing the result hoped for, of raising people from the dead and being interrupted. He said plainly that you will never raise anyone from the dead unless you try. How does the group wrestle with the tension between stepping out in faith and not always seeing the outcome we believe for? What keeps people from trying, and how do we move past that?

5. APPLICATION CHALLENGE

This week, identify one person in your life — a coworker, neighbor, family member, or friend — who is dealing with sickness, fear, or an impossible situation. Rather than only offering sympathy or practical help, ask them directly if you can pray for them, and then pray with genuine expectation that God can intervene. Come back to the group next week prepared to share what happened, whether that is a testimony of breakthrough or simply the experience of stepping out.

6. PRAYER POINTS

• Pray that the Lord would stir up a genuine, corporate hunger across the entire church body for the gifts of the Holy Spirit to operate freely and consistently in their midst, not as occasional surprises but as a normal part of church life.

• Pray specifically for those in the group who are facing physical illness or who have loved ones who are sick, asking God to release the gifts of healings and to send the right person with the right anointing to minister to them.

• Pray that each member of the group would grow in sensitivity to the Holy Spirit so that when the gift of faith drops into them in a moment of need — whether for themselves, for someone they are with, or for a situation they are believing God to change — they will recognize it, act on it, and not talk themselves out of it.
